A Word about Textbooks and Lectures

The primary source of factual subject material is your textbook. I expect you to read, study, and comprehend your textbook. Lectures are intended to clarify important concepts and to encourage student discussion. You need to read the book first so that we may have an informed discussion when we meet for class.

Two of the courses I am currently teaching, Astronomy and Physical Science, utilize texts published by McGraw-Hill. This company has a Web site filled with helpful material including tutorials and sample tests. The Web address of their Online Learning Center is printed inside your textbook or on the back cover of the book. A similar site is available for our General Physics textbook, published by Prentice Hall.
