Professor Robert Fries has 35 years of teaching experience in higher education, with over two decades of making computer technology more accessible and understandable to the public.

In 2004, he received the Excellence in Teaching award at Anderson University, where he teaches astronomy and physics.

Previously, his post-graduate work included field work in Antarctica, where a mountain is named after him as a result of his research on the Aurora Australis (aka the Southern Lights). The accompanying picture illustrates this awesome and dramatic natural phenomenon. Yes, it really looks like this. This has not been "PhotoShopped!"

Leaving Windows Behind
If you want an elegant and trouble-free computing experience, switch to Apple's Macintosh. No more constant virus threats and weekly security updates.  The Mac user interface is what Microsoft has tried to imitate for 20 years, but the widespread problems with Vista prove Microsoft still has not gotten it right.  Go with Mac, a true American original.  Read security expert Robert Jaques' comments here.
